✨Join me on Sunday, 5.2 at Praise studio for my new workshop:
Transformative Justice embodied: the somatics of survival in conflicts
✨Transformative Justice (TJ) calls for our capacity to acknowledge & face conflict courageously. We can not be abolitionist AND conflict avoidant. For a lot of us however, conflicts activate our nervous system in ways that often feel dangerous and unsafe.
How can we practice making more space for conflict in the body, as well as witnessing & honoring the wisdom of our trauma & resilience responses, whatever they are?
✨Somatics (how trauma informs the body) teaches us that we take the shape of what we practice most. If what we practice most in our relationships to the people we claim we love is disposability, refusal to communicate, avoidance, how can we stop a carceral state? How can we abolish the police if we are not capable to hold conflict with the people we call our friends?
✨By noticing our trauma responses to conflict, hold their wisdom and calm our nervous system, we become capable to hold the complexity we need to engage in generative conflict and repair.
